Conference Goal: to enhance the involvement of adolescents in solving issues related to biodiversity conservation, energy and water saving, to seek innovative approaches to solving the region’s environmental challenges, and to develop research skills.
Main Objectives:
- to raise environmental awareness among adolescents;
- to encourage school students to study the ecological condition of their surroundings and to use its resources responsibly;
- to highlight energy and water conservation issues;
- to support the youth environmental movement as an effective form of environmental education and upbringing.
Conference Organizer:
The Ecological-Biological Department of the ShU “Palace of Schoolchildren” under the Almaty City Education Administration, supported by the RSE “Institute of Zoology” under the CS MES RK.
Conference Participants: students in grades 7–11, either individually or as part of research groups.
Conference Dates:
The conference will be held on April 3–4, 2025:
April 3 – for schools with Russian as the language of instruction.
April 4 – for schools with Kazakh as the language of instruction.

The original application must be signed by the head (director) of the institution and bear its seal!
Only project-based research will be accepted for conference presentations. Works of a purely abstract (report-style) nature are not eligible. Submissions not meeting the requirements will not be reviewed.
The allotted time to present research projects is 7 minutes, using demonstrational materials (mock-ups, models, videos, etc.).
The organizers reserve the right to reject any submission or disqualify a previously accepted entry if the above-mentioned rules are violated.
The organizers also reserve the right to use the submitted works or excerpts thereof in the preparation of reports as well as in organizing and conducting various thematic events.

Works submitted for consideration in the contest should address the following:
A) Green City – technologies aimed at improving the environment (1 participant);
B) A Look into the Future – projects in ecological education, volunteer work, activities of public organizations (1 participant);
C) Innovative Ecological Business Ideas – initiatives aimed at developing sustainable businesses, implementing environmentally friendly technologies, and improving the quality of life (1 participant).
D) World of Animals – projects in zoology, ecology of vertebrates and invertebrates, or the husbandry and breeding of animals in captivity (no more than 2 participants)
This category is organized by the “INSTITUTE OF ZOOLOGY” under the CS MES RK
Criteria for Assessing Research Projects: relevance and novelty of the problem being studied, scope and thoroughness of the research, effectiveness in achieving stated objectives, practical significance, personal contribution by the author, and speaking skills.
Works must be submitted in Kazakh or Russian. The total length should not exceed 20 pages. Page numbering and margins are mandatory.
Each project must be accompanied by a supervisor’s review and an expert opinion stating the rationale for choosing the topic, the author’s personal contribution to the work, strengths, and weaknesses.
Formatting Requirements:
The work must include:
– Title page;
– Table of contents (with page numbers);
– Abstract – a concise summary of the main points of the work in the language (Kazakh or Russian) in which the project is written;
– Introduction – the relevance of the work and justification for choosing the topic, goals and objectives, location where the work was done;
– Literature Review – a brief analysis of domestic and international literature on the research problem;
– Main Part:
1. Materials and Methods;
2. Experimental Section;
3. Results and Discussion;
– Conclusion (conclusions, recommendations);
– References.
The title page must include:
– The full name of the institution where the work was carried out;
– The title of the project;
– The contest category;
– The author (last name, first name, grade, school, district);
– The supervisor (full name, academic degree if any, position, workplace);
– The year the work was completed.
The text must be typed on a computer (Times New Roman font, 12–14 point size, 1.5 line spacing, 3 cm left margin, 1.5 cm right margin, top and bottom 2.5 cm, without any decorative frames or images).
Awards and Recognition
Winners are determined by the jury.
Winners and their supervisors receive diplomas.
The date and time of the awards ceremony will be announced separately!
