We invite you to participate in the International Scientific Conference “Advances and Challenges in Modern Herpetology”, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Kazakh and Soviet herpetologist Zoia Karpovna Brushko (1931–2023).
Date and venue: The conference will be held on April 16–17, 2026, in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
Organizers: RSE “Institute of Zoology” of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the A.M. Nikolsky Herpetological Society at the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Format: online
Main objective: to strengthen cooperation in the study and conservation of amphibians and reptiles by bringing colleagues together, exchanging research results, and discussing current issues and prospects for herpetofauna conservation.
Working languages: Kazakh, Russian, English.
Conference proceedings are planned to be published after the conference in a volume indexed in RSCI (eLIBRARY.RU). Formatting guidelines will be sent to registered participants.
Participants are not restricted by strict thematic limits. Presentations on faunistics and biogeography, systematics and phylogeny, morphology and evolution, ecology and conservation of amphibians and reptiles are welcome. The plenary session will include invited lectures addressing key issues in the biology of amphibians, turtles, and squamates.

May 16, 2026 – deadline for submission of materials for publication in the conference proceedings.
