Dear colleagues and friends, to all who have devoted their lives to science, we extend our warmest congratulations on this professional holiday—Science Day!
This date was chosen intentionally in our country. On April 12, the renowned Kazakh geologist, the first president of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences, Kanysh Satpayev, was born. One of his close associates was Academician Illarion Grigorievich Galuza of the Kazakh SSR Academy of Sciences, who led the Institute of Zoology of Kazakhstan for more than a quarter century (1951–1977).
A zoologist’s work is not always easy, but it is always fascinating. Science is the work of individuals who are infinitely dedicated to their craft, full of creativity and enthusiasm, making an invaluable contribution to the study of Kazakhstan’s wildlife and the preservation of its biodiversity.
Thanks to the support of the government and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, over the past few years the leadership of the Institute of Zoology has been able to restore several laboratories and open new ones for conducting research at a more advanced modern level. The Institute’s human resources are gradually rebuilding, and currently half of the Institute’s researchers are young scientists under 40 years of age.
On this festive day, we wish Kazakhstan’s scientists fresh ideas and discoveries, innovative approaches and solutions, vitality, the advancement of research methods, fulfillment in their work, inspiration, and meaningful achievements!
