The Institute of Zoology invites you to take part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “BIRD MIGRATION IN ASIA IN THE 21ST CENTURY: RESULTS, CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Shakpak (Chokpak) Ornithological Station.
The conference aims to comprehensively summarize research results on bird migration and to develop coordinated scientific and methodological approaches for further studies of migration processes in Asia.
The conference welcomes researchers, biodiversity specialists, lecturers and students in biology and ecology, as well as representatives of conservation organizations and government agencies interested in bird migration research and the conservation of migratory species.

Format: hybrid – offline and online (on-site at the ringing station and online participation)

Organizational fee: online participation is free of charge, on-site participation requires an organizational fee
Participation formats:
- plenary presentation (up to 20 minutes);
- section oral presentation (up to 10 minutes);
- online participation with publication of materials.
Main conference themes:
- summarizing the results of bird migration research in the 21st century and sharing monitoring data;
- identifying priority challenges and directions for research and conservation of migratory birds;
- discussing current issues in bird migration studies in Asia.

Publication of papers based on conference materials is planned in the proceedings “Trudy instituta zoologii”.
