Saiga Conservation Alliance Bulletin
Saiga News is an international newsletter dedicated to the conservation and study of the saiga antelope (Saiga tatarica), a rare ungulate species listed on the IUCN Red List. The bulletin covers current research, conservation activities, field expeditions, legislative initiatives, and environmental education related to saiga conservation across its range countries.
Publisher and founders:
The journal is published within the framework of the Saiga Conservation Alliance (SCA), an international initiative focused on saiga conservation. Founding partners include organizations and scientific institutes from Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, China, and the United Kingdom.
Year of establishment:
The first issue of Saiga News was published in 2005.
Languages:
The bulletin is published in six languages: English, Russian, Kazakh, Uzbek, Mongolian, and Chinese. This multilingual approach ensures broad international outreach, including scientists, conservation practitioners, students, protected area staff, and the general public.
